Cattle Bone Acoustic Bridge Pins
I purchased a set of Cattle Bone and a set of Buffalo Horn Bridge Pins from PL for my Martin D-18 Street Legend. A thing I do is switch out one pin at a time and compare it with what is already on the guitar. In comparing the cattle bone and the buffalo horn bridge pins, the bone pins have a bit more edge, and therefore sound slightly louder than the buffalo horn due to a harder/quicker attack when hitting the string with a guitar pick, whereas the buffalo horn pins have a sweet and "nice" sound that makes the guitar sound a few decades "older", in a great way. I like both the bone and the buffalo horn bridge pins, and can see myself switching between them depending on my mood. In any event, either set is noticeably superior in volume and tone compared to the stock plastic Martin bridge pins, wherein the stock plastic pins make the guitar sound more "flat", as in less dimensional. Both sets are a noticeable and highly-affordable improvement.

I ordered the Gibson Custom Truss rod cover for my J-45 Custom Shop acoustic, it came quickly, and original OEM Gibson item. Excellent service will purchase from again. My go-to shop.

Cattle Bone Acoustic Bridge Pins
So far, so good; can’t be beat for the money. The 5 degree 220s fit my Larrivee L-03-12 perfectly without any sanding or adjustment whatsoever. And the 212 5 degree fit my Martin D-18 with just a little carving of the bridge holes. If you’ve never had these be sure you understand that they are NOT what you’re replacing, especially if it’s plastic. They do break if you aren’t careful with them. IMHO, the difference in tone is worth the risk.
