Great bridge for a 70's Fender Jazz
First a note on dealing with Philadelphia Luthiers - it was a real pleasure! Great service, quick and reasonably priced international postage (all the way to down under!) - very happy, thank you guys! I got the bridge as a replacement for the standard Fender bridge on a US 70's Jazz reissue. Sure, the original does the job, but I wanted something nicer looking with slots for top loading instead of having to thread the strings through. Initially, I bought the hipshot A-style which is also very nice, if a little on the heavy side and more expensive. However the hipshot is not a good fit for the 70s jazz, because the g saddle doesn't travel far enough to intonate! D'oh! Enter the Gotoh 404BO... lighter, cheaper, great quality and more than enough travel in all the saddles for intonation on just about anything. Winner.. love it!

Incredible for the price point
I got everything I wanted in a bridge for my Jazz Bass with this. Great sustain and looks good too. Chrome plating is flawless and no sharp edges. Being I wanted standard Fender string spacing there was no need for adjustable saddles which some may desire.

Gotoh Bass Bridge 404BO-4
upgraded to this bridge on my new Yamaha BB734A. It was a very easy installation and allowed me to keep the string-through feature that I prefer. Looks great and made a noticeable improvement in sustain and tone that I knew a "higher mass" quality bridge as this would provide.
