These lightweight aluminum tailpiece studs weight less the .2 oz each. Compare these to the weight of steel studs .48 oz and brass studs .55 oz. Aluminum is often said to add increase note and string definition with added presence.

The aluminum posts.
They are light weight! Had a problem screwing them in. I didn't want to force them in.. The customer service was great. I received replacement and managed to install them. They are a little hard to install because of plating on aluminium.
