This is the one!
If you want to change your Jazz Bass controls from Volume, Volume, Tone to Volume, Blend, Tone, THIS is the control to use. I have done this mod on a half-dozen fretless Jazz Basses and I can nail the Jaco sound every time without having to fiddle with two knobs. Just back off the neck pickup entirely and SLOWLY bring it up until you get the sound you want. Then you have a Volume control that works without affecting your tone.
