These are pre-shaped bone nuts with most of work done for you. These will still require final shaping and slotting. These are not drop in replacement. A proper setup is still required for the nut to perform at its optimum potential.

Good place to start.
They appear to be good quality. Trying to repair a couple of 78 fretless p basses and a 84 American jazz. All three have a broken nut. Bought 4 of these in case I have to learn the hard way. Haven't started the repairs yet.
