- Japanese Flat Bench Chisel
- Made in Japan
- Dual layer laminated steel blade - Rockwell HRC63 hardness
- Hollow ground rear surface for easy flattening
- 3 mm (.118") blade width
- Total length approximately 8 7/8" (225mm)

Japanese Flat Chisel
It's a nice little chisel that works well. I didn't give it 5 stars because it's a little too tall to fit in most nut slots if you want to remove material from the fretboard side of the slot. But for remove glue from the slot bed, it works fine.

Great nut slotting chisel
We purchased this chisel as a compliment to our shop set of hand forged Iyori butt chisels ($$$$) that only came with a 6mm as the smallest available size in the set when purchased years ago. It has replaced the 3mm Sorby which we used for cleaning up "F" style nut slots when doing nut replacements on the repair side of the shop. (The Sorby chisels have a slightly different blade cross section and even the 3mm tends to bind in deeper nut slots). The chisel was sharp and ready to use out of the packaging and the price point for a high/low carbon steel forged chisel is very good.

Exactly what I wanted
Size, shape, & sharpness were all that I wanted and hoped for from pics and description. Sometimes these types of tools show up and they're smaller and lighter weight than what you were expecting.....
