We've been using this in our shop for over 8 years. It is the best double side mounting tape for attaching templates for routing. Excels at attaching MDF to guitar wood body. Use it to attach the material to your CNC router so you won't accidentally hit mounting clamps or screws.
It is more expensive than hardware store carpet tape but you won't disappointed with its performance.

Good tape, been never fails
A big well known luthier supplier once sold good quality double-sided tape by 3M but discontinued it a few years ago. Since then they doubled their pricing on an in-house generic brand and it does not hold up well. This forced me to seek an alternative. I’m glad I found the double-sided adhesion tape here at Philadelphia. I have been using the 1” wide rolls for the past few years and it never fails. The 1” option also saves me money compared to the 2” thick which was overkill. I use this sticky tape in conjunction with 3M painter’s tape from the local hardware store for added surface protection when it comes to adhesion and removal. I highly recommend this product for your router templates and repair needs where double-sided adhesion tape is beneficial.
