A2 Rough
I replaced the short A5 rough cast magnets in a P90 bridge pickup in a Special. The pickup was very shrill and unusable. The A2 rough magnets tamed the shrill and gave the nasal honky and spanky tone I was searching for. The price is very good on these magnets and you really can’t go wrong.

Alnico 2 Roughcast
I always order from Philadelphia Luthier, excellent quality every time. So when I decided to mod my PRS P90s that were made by Seymour Duncan to PRS specs i ordered a set of these and also a set of alnico 5 unoriented roughcast for the bridge. The PRS p90s had a ceramic and polished alnico 5 in the bridge and two polished alnico 5s in the neck, they sounded really hot and modern. Probably good for jazz. I wanted a more vintage blues and rock vibe. It took about 20 minutes to put the new magnets in and they sounded fantastic.
