The Seymour Duncan SM-3 Seymourized Mini Humbucker neck is designed so that each coil contains a high-carbon steel blade coupled to the bottom-loaded Alnico 5 bar magnet. The tone has more midrange and clarity and provides nice, even-sounding chords with just a hint of snarl. Clean tones have a clear, snappiness, and distorted tones have a nice midrange growl.
The Seymour Duncan SM-3 Seymourized Mini humbucker bridge has more midrange and grit while providing noticeably more muscle than a vintage-style pickup. Chords sound big and aggressive without getting fizzy or losing that cool Alnico tonal character. There is a natural openness to the tone that delivers a larger serving of what is so special about Firebird tone.
