Product is a perfect replacement. Need another 2 but the tariffs imposed by your president is making it tough for us Canadians to buy American.

Looks and fits like the real thing… it probably is.

First, let me state up front, that this is a very professional looking truss rod cover inasmuch as it's 100% flawless. But it's not what I thought it would be, which would have been a typical 2-ply black/white plastic laminate, engraved through the black top layer to the white bottom layer, giving a 3-D effect to the lettering as were some of the truss-rods of olde. What I received, while being impeccable, looks as though the lettering was silk-screened on. A good comparison would be the Epiphone truss rods with 'Gibson' on them. When I wrote to mention this, I was sent a photo showing that the black top was indeed engraved, however it isn't engraved to the depth of the white layer below, and that the engraved lettering is filled with a white paint, or filler, thus giving me the false impression that it was silk screened. I was further told, "It not possible to engrave to the white layer on Gibson truss rod cover...the black layer is way to thick to engrave through." So that's the story. Bottom line is, it's a nice, neat, professional looking cover, perfect in every way - as long as you're not expecting it to have that old-style engraved look about it. If it did, I'd give 5 stars, but because it doesn't, I'm giving it 4 stars.

I ordered a custom engraved truss rod cover on Tuesday evening. My order arrived in California on Friday! Excellent product. Gibson is putting plain gloss black covers on their SG's. Looks so much better with Philadelphia Luthier's cover. Wish I could attach a photo. It's awesome!!!
