Beautiful Buttons and the Best Quality
These Gotoh Planetary Tuning Machines (tuners) are the highest quality, work great, and look great. The beautiful amber button color version is harder to find and this is my favorite source for them. I have bought seven sets so far and installed them on my nicer ukuleles that did not come with the Gotoh UPTs. I even installed a set of the long version (UPTL) on my Fluke ukulele from the Magic Fluke Company to replace the friction tuners.

Great UPT Tuners with Beautiful Buttons!
These Gotoh UPT tuning machines were delivered quickly and work great. The chrome white with the gold (really more tortoise shell or amber) buttons are beautiful on my ukulele. As song as you have the right diameter holes, they are really easy to install, even for someone like me who had never changed tuning machines before.

Even better than the pictures
These are even nicer than the pictures show, and smaller than they appear. I would use these on every ukulele if they would fit (some need longer posts than even the UPTL). I put a set on a favorite concert uke and am about to put on a favorite baritone.

Gotoh Planetary Ukuele Tuning Machines.
I bought them to replace wood friction tuning pegs on a mountain dulcimer. The measurements in the website product listing and diagram were dead on. All four tuning machines work smoothly and won't slip after the button knob screw is properly tightened. They look good and are well worth the money.

Best tuners if they fit your ukulele
These are beautiful, like jewelry or netsuke, yet also the best working tuners I've ever seen. I had seen and read about them online, and pictures just don't do justice to them. They are also smaller than they may seem from a picture. Measure your peghead thickness carefully before ordering. There isn't room to go beyond the specified thickness. I would use these on more instruments if they fit. I'd like to see a UPTXL size that would go to 5/8" thickness. Philadelphia Luthier Tools sent them out same day they were ordered and I had them in Northern Virginia three days later by economy shipping.

Gotoh UPTL
I installed these on a new Magic Fluke Tenor ukulele. I replaced the cheap Grover friction tuners the came with it. These are amazing little tuners. They are smooth, precise, and do not slip. Thank you Philadelphia Luthier.

Great Tuners
Easy replacement, light on instructions as far as adjusting tension. When I installed them, they couldn't hold the turn and the knobs would just turn back to loosen. I tried tightening the screws on the knobs, and that increased the friction in the tuner and now they hold the tuning great. They look great and are very solid. Love them!

Am totally satisfied with the product and highly recommend it.

I love these
Great tuners. They look like friction pegs, but have planetary gears so they don't slip. High quality materials and build.
